Combat and raids
Fighting is part of the game, but it has rules. This page covers combat tagging, the arena systems, siege weapons and vault heists.
Where PvP is allowed
- Wilderness (unclaimed land): PvP is allowed.
- Inside nation claims: PvP is on. Nations are expected to defend themselves.
- Safe zones set up by ArenaX are protected from PvP.
Keep the rules in mind: no teleport traps and no using /tpa, /home or /spawn to escape a fight.
Combat tag
When you hit or are hit by a player, you are tagged for 30 seconds. While tagged:
- You can only use
/msg,/rand/help. - You cannot use ender pearls, chorus fruit or totems of undying.
- A timer shows on your action bar.
If you disconnect while tagged, you are killed and your inventory drops. The server announces it.
When a player is killed, their head can drop.
Arenas, zones and bounties
ArenaX adds structured fighting:
- Safe zones where you cannot be attacked.
- Timed raid zones with supply crates. The server warns 5 minutes before one starts.
- King of the hill: the hill rotates every 30 minutes. Hold it for 5 minutes to capture it and earn a reward.
- Kill bounties: killing a player in a zone can pay 5% of their money, up to 5,000. A victim needs at least 100, and farming the same victim has a cooldown.
- Lifesteal in zones: you start at 10 hearts. Kills move hearts between players, between 6 and 14 hearts. You cannot take hearts from allies, and new players get 120 minutes of protection.
Banned in fights
Maces, respawn anchors and minecarts are disabled. End crystals do reduced damage. Cobwebs are limited.
Cannons
CannonX adds medieval siege cannons with custom models. They are made for sieges and defending walls.
- You need gunpowder and ammunition such as stone shot, iron shot, chain shot or grapeshot.
- Light the cannon with flint and steel or a fire charge.
- Cannons reload slowly (a few seconds for the small falconet) and can misfire in rain.
- Cannon blasts do not break blocks. They hurt people and cannons.
Cavalry
CavalryX makes mounted combat work like it should.
- You must be on a horse. Sprint to couch your lance.
- The faster you charge, the harder you hit. A full charge adds large bonus damage.
- A charge needs room to build up speed, and you cannot turn sharply while charging.
- Spear walls: braced spears stop a charge and can throw riders and hurt horses.
- Archers are strong against horses.
Vault heists
HeistX lets players raid vaults, with guards and an alarm.
- Cracking a vault takes about 60 seconds and you must stay close.
- The alarm is heard within 180 blocks.
- A vault can only be raided about every 2 hours.
- Rewards include money, gold, emeralds and diamonds.
Karma
Every player has a karma score between -200 and 200 with a title:
| Karma | Title |
|---|---|
| 50 and up | Honourable |
| 10 to 49 | Trusted |
| -9 to 9 | Neutral |
| -49 to -10 | Suspect |
| -50 and below | Outlaw |
Raiding costs karma. At -50 you become an outlaw, which other players can see from about 14 blocks away. Karma recovers slowly over time, or you can pay a pardon fee. Killing guards changes karma too. Use /karma to check yours.
Numbers as configured on 2026-10-20. Staff may tune them.
